Banh Mi XANH opened its first shop for the people of Saigon who leave early and finish late. There were only a few familiar vegan loaves then, and they sold out by the end of the day. The question customers asked most was about the opening hours — because a night shift needs a hot banh mi too.
That is where the decision to stay open through the night came from. No closing in the afternoon, no closing at midnight. If there is a customer, there is bread.
There are now five: 38 Lê Thị Riêng, 15B Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, 2B Trần Hưng Đạo and 148B Đề Thám in District 1, and 210 Bùi Văn Ba in District 7. Each one keeps the recipes, the ingredients and the method of the first. A regular at one shop gets the same loaf at any of the others.
Small shops keep the bread fresh from the oven through the day, rather than held warm for hours. Opening several of them close to homes and offices means customers can walk round, or order a delivery over a short distance — and the bread is still crisp when it reaches them.
Regulars kept asking whether there was a larger, fuller loaf that would hold them for a whole session. So we made the Thượng Hạng Premium: the big one, at 75,000d, with more filling than the standard. It is not the loaf for a rushed weekday. It is for when you want to eat slowly, eat properly, or take something home for the family.
The vegan banh mi here is made with tofu, vegetables and vegan cold cut, with no meat or fish. This is everyday vegan nutrition, not a remedy or a course of treatment. Anyone following a diet prescribed by a doctor should ask them before changing what they eat.
All five shops are open 24 hours a day, holidays and Tet included. There is fresh bread on the night shift too, not something reheated from the afternoon.
Delivery is free on orders from 500,000d within 5km of whichever shop is nearest you. Smaller or more distant orders are still delivered, with a charge based on the actual distance.
To eat in, come to the nearest shop — it is always open. For delivery, call 0923.183.183 with the items and the address, and the shop will prepare it and confirm a delivery time before the rider leaves.
Opening more shops is not the point of any of this. What matters more is that every loaf leaves the shop hot and tasting the way it should, whether the customer is in District 1 or District 7. That is what Banh Mi XANH has held to from the first day, and what we will hold to as new shops open.
Premium is the big version with more filling, at 75,000d against 59,000d for Thập Cẩm. It suits anyone who wants a meal that holds, or something to take home to share.

Translating every item into English sounds friendlier. But with vegan food, translation misleads in exactly the place where it matters most.
